Industrial Cellular Module Invades Japanese Markets
By Mat Dirjish
Targeting industrial applications, the SARA-R410M-63B LTE-M module from u-blox now carries certification for use in Japan on LTE-M cellular networks of the domestic network operators. The module series supports a broad spectrum of IoT applications such as smart metering, telematics, asset and vehicle tracking, security systems, building automation, plus smart lighting solutions and connected health.
The SARA-R410M-63B modules include a unique and immutable root of trust (RoT). This provides the foundation for a trusted set of advanced security functionalities. It also includes the company’s CellLocate cellular positioning technology that enables standalone location estimation based on surrounding mobile network information or in conjunction with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning data to improve location.
Users can future-proof their designs by means of the Firmware Over The Air (uFOTA) client/server firmware updates. They can customize objects and resources and add them to devices in the field via the LWM2M functionality. And with manufacturing in ISO/TS 16949-certified production sites and an extended operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C, the module is suitable for industrial applications. For more info and enlightenment, procure and peruse the SARA-R410M-63B datasheet.
