Scalable Drivers Support High-Power Steppers

Designed for powering high-power stepper motors, Trinamic TMCM-1278 and PD60/86-1278 PANdrive scalable drivers pair drive and control functions with a state-of-the-art feature set. The TMCM-1278 combines a motion controller and driver in a single module for NEMA 23/24 motors while the PD60/86-1278 PANdrive is a full mechatronic solution that mounts the module on a NEMA 24/34 PANdrive motor. Controlled by a CAN bus interface, both products support the company’s TMCL firmware and CANopen protocol.

Shared features include:

  • Supply voltage: from 12 to 48 Vdc
  • Current per motor phase: 9 ARMS
  • CAN bus interface with TMCL or CANopen protocol
  • Integrated SixPoint ramp generator
  • Proprietary tech set including StealthChop, SpreadCycle, Coolstep, and StallGuard

To ensure larger NEMA 34 motors operate as quietly and precisely as possible, each module employs the company’s StealthChop technology for silent operation at low speeds and standstill and SpreadCycle for operation at higher speeds.
