Camera Captures 360° Images In One Shot
By Mat Dirjish
Debuting as the entry-level model of the THETA 360°, RICOH Imaging Company’s THETA SC2 camera for business can shoot 360° spherical images in a single shot. According to the company, the rapid growth of virtual reality (VR), the increasing number of social media services that are compatible with 360° images, and the growing demand for 360° images in the business market makes 360° photography increasingly relevant.
The SC2 has a preset “Room” mode with HDR settings suitable for shooting indoors or inside a car, which is the default mode. A self-timer function enables time-shift between shooting with the front and rear lens.
The camera snaps photos at approximately 14 Mpixels with immersive 360°spherical video at 30 fps in 4K (3840 × 1920 pixels). Notably, an OLED display in the lower section of the body allows for checking a range of information such as setting modes and remaining battery power. It also features a button that lets users switch to self-timer mode. For more details, checkout the Theta camera overview.
